A Whispher of AIDS

In 1992 Mary Fisher addressed the Republican National Convention to speak about the AIDS. She is the daughter of Max Fisher, the Detroit multimillionaire and Republican fund raiser, worked in the White House of Gerald R. Ford.

1. Explain the goal of this speech?
2. What was the strongest support material Fisher used, do you think it worked?
3. Do you think there were specific calls to action?
4. It has been over 10years from the date of this speech, if Fisher were to give the speech today what advice would you give her to appeal to today's audience?
5. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, how would you rate Mr. Fisher?

4. Visualization
5. Action

Compare Obama' Inauguration Speech with JFK

You are required to analyze the speech using the link on the image to view and answer to the following questions on my blog as a comment. Keep in mind the aspects of President Obama while listening.

1. Do you think there are similarities in the delivery of Kennedy’s Inauguration speech and Obama’s speech? Think in terms of verbal pauses, non verbal gestures and tone.

2. Think of the state of the country in 1961 and the state of our country today. Then compare this message to the message in 2009. Are their any parallels? What are they if any?

3. Compare the call to action in both speeches? Similar or different?
